theCAVE architecture + design are now listed with the Royal Institute of British Architects' register of Chartered Practices.

As a Chartered Practice, we are compelled to comply with strict criteria. Registering as an RIBA Chartered Practice is our commitment to delivering the highest professional, ethical and best practice standards in architecture.

The scheme ensures that all accredited members work to a common set of standards and have in place:

  • appropriate professional indemnity insurance

  • quality management systems

  • health and safety policy

  • employment policy addressing the principles of the RIBA policy statement on employment

  • continuing professional development for all staff

  • a written environmental management policy

Northern Design Awards 2018 Finalists by James Hindley


theCAVE architecture + design were delighted to be shortlisted finalists in this years Northern Design Awards. The event was hosted at Manchester’s Principal Hotel on Friday 16th November 2018.

Architects, Interior Designers and Designer Makers met for the 16th Annual Norther Design Awards hosted by Wayne Hemmingway MBE.

IT'S A CARVE OFF by James Hindley


On Tuesday 30th October 2018 The Bubble Room, Alderley Edge will host the pumpkin carving contest between theCAVE and Artez.
The challenge was thrown down by theCAVE on instagram last week and promptly accepted by Artez MD Mike Banton.

The Bubble Room will judge the efforts of both teams and announce the winner. First place will will a bottle of Louis Roederer Champagne kindly provided by The Bubble Room. The entrants and the winner will be featured on our instagram account following the event.

SEVENDIALS | PRESTBURY has been featured by Reynaers at Home, The domestic division of Reynaers Aluminium. Reynaers is a global aluminium window manufacturer based in Belgium and operating in more than 60 countries worldwide.

Reynaers at Home have selected the 600m2 Cheshire Residence as the masthead image on their website, showcasing the largest installation of Reynaers HI-FINITY sliding doors in the UK to date.

Work has begun on site in Mobberley, Cheshire. The construction of a contemporary iteration of a Scotts Crofters Cottage is underway. The new family home will make use of both ground source heat pump technology and an extensive photovoltaic array.


theCAVE architecture + design have been granted full planning permission for the renovation and remodelling of a bungalow in Wilmslow in just 4 weeks. The contemporary scheme proposes to remove the roof of the bungalow and insert a contemporary master bedroom pod at first floor level. The project seeks to transform the uninspiring bungalow.


theCAVE architecture + design have been granted planning permission for 4 contemporary pavilion style houses in Bramhall. The modernist inspired houses set accommodation over two floors with a partial first floor level giving way to roof level terraces. Porter and Daughter plan to begin work on site in late 2018.
